Hi, I'm Brittany!

The heart and hands behind The Covered Bridge.

Welcome to my little corner of the world! I'm originally from Southern Indiana, but now call Denham Springs, Louisiana, home, along with my sweet pup, Roux.

The Covered Bridge began in 2023 as a creative outlet to help me navigate anxiety. What started with a little polymer clay and a lot of trial and error turned into a passion for creating handmade jewelry and sharing it with others.

But while my small business is fairly new, the name The Covered Bridge has a story that goes back long before I ever picked up a piece of clay.

The Story Behind the Name

Growing up in Southern Indiana, my mom and aunt owned a little gift shop called The Covered Bridge, tucked behind my grandparents' house. My grandparents also had a tea room in their basement, where locals would gather for food, conversation, and a little time together.

Some of my sweetest childhood memories were made in those two places.

I spent countless hours hanging out in the gift shop with my mom and aunt or sitting on the stairs at my grandparents' house, peeking through the cracks in the privacy curtain to see what was happening downstairs in the tea room. I can still picture those moments so clearly.

After my grandma passed away, the tea room and gift shop eventually closed. Years later, when my grandpa passed, the house was sold. While those places are no longer part of our family, the memories and the love that filled them have never gone away.

When I decided to turn my little hobby into a business, I knew I wanted a name that meant something to me. And what better name than one that already held so many wonderful memories?

So, The Covered Bridge was given a second life.

It's not the same little gift shop tucked behind my grandparents' house in Indiana. It's now a handmade jewelry business in Louisiana, but it carries a piece of my childhood, my family, and a place that will always feel like home.

I like to think that, in my own little way, I'm continuing something my mom and aunt started all those years ago.

A Little More About Me

When I'm not managing a local boutique, you can usually find me creating new designs, working on my next collection, spending time with Roux, or hanging with friends and family

I also love bringing people together through creativity! Along with handmade earrings and other unique creations, I offer private making parties for bachelorette celebrations, girls' nights, and other special occasions.

Whether you're here to find your next favorite pair of earrings, shop for a thoughtful gift, or just learn a little more about the person behind the business, I'm so glad you're here.

Thank you for supporting The Covered Bridge and allowing me to give a name that means so much to my family a whole new chapter.

With love,

Brittany ♡
